My Experience With The All Time Saves Leader

I had to wake up at 6:30 for baseball practice, and almost immediately after, I left for White Plains. I felt a little weird wheeling around a suitcase with a pitching rubber in it, but I don't know what I else I would've done. I was also carrying around my Gehrig jersey, just in case, even though I didn't buy two autograph tickets. I didn't plan on buying an extra ticket either, I just had one ticket, and two inscriptions. We were ticket #3, which was great, so right when we got there, we went to Rivera. I was nervous, because I didn't know what to expect. My parents were there with me too, so they were both taking pictures.

Mariano Rivera did pitch on this mound twice
When I got to Rivera, I unzipped the suitcase, and he guy that was with him lifted the picture rubber on the table. I didn't really say much, and I asked him to inscribe it "Enter Sandman" and "All Time Saves Leader," which he did! It was sort of quick, but the pitching rubber came out fantastic! I tried to get my Gehrig jersey signed, but had no luck. A few minutes later, both my parents said I should get another autograph ticket, but I said no. I knew I would be disappointed, and they knew that to, so they gave me no choice, and just bought it.

We had to wait for a while, so I walked around and bought and sold some cards. I found the booth that I go to every show, and bought these two cards from him.

This is my first autograph of Orlando Hernandez, and is #ed 10/10, from 2014 Tier One!

I also traded for this Paul O'Neil 2014 five star autograph, which is my third of his!

The next booth that I went to had a bunch of vintage, and I bought 14 cards from him for $10.

When they called our number, we went back to the stage where Mariano Rivera was, and waited in line once again.

When it was my turn, I took out my jersey, and told him to sign on the right side, since their was an open space there. He signed his name, and I took a picture with him. My mom told him that I'm obsessed with baseball, and that I watch all the Yankees games. He laughed and said something like "Good luck bro," and gave me a fist bump which was really cool! He asked if I did well in school and I replied with "I guess so," and he told me that school is the most important thing. Mariano was an amazing person, and I had an amazing experience with him! I was so glad that I got that second ticket, just because I didn't really say much the first time!

    1. Yep, It was a ton of fun! I did have to pay another $300 for the extra signature... It was a fun, but expensive trip!

    1. He definitely took his time! The only problem is... Where do I put it? It's so heavy.

  3. That is beautiful. Have to think of doing that for a Kershaw autograph.

  4. Wow Frankie, you certainly had me beat. The pitching mound looks phenomenal, and I'm glad you were able to get the jersey done too, I don't think you'll end up regretting that at all! Congrats on an amazing day, wish I could've been there!
