Saving the life of a little friend

I lied... the blog isn't "All about Baseball"
I just found a Chipmunk in my pool drowning and now its in this tiny little pink cage. At first it was REALLY scared and shivering, but i wrapped it in a towel and it seems to be getting a lot better.
I don't know when i should let it out, in the morning (tommorow) or tonight. It's also breathing really fast (i don't know if that's good) but its better than before. I gave it some lettuce to because my turtle likes it... and i thought he/she would. also some acorns and wheat thins.
Anyway, I hope it gets better!

UPDATE: It got much better and dried up so I let him go.

2015 Free Agents

I'm a little bored, so i decided that i want to talk about some of the biggest free agents in the MLB this off-season. And of course some of the worse free agents. No pictures this time...

Best Free Agents on the market

1. I would say Max Scherzer, but he doesn't have as much postseason experience. Its Jon Lester!!! He has pitched GREAT since he was traded to the Athletics and continues to dominate. He pitches the AL wildcard game today, no doubt that he will have a VERY strong start.

2. Future Yankee, Victor Martinez. Why a future yankee? he's 36 and the yankees LOVE signing mid 30's players. V-Mart has had an OUTSTANDING season, and if he played in the field, he would be AL MVP.  he's batting a solid .335 with 103 RBI. Oh, and his on base percentage? .409 which is a little less than half the time.

3. Former Yankees catcher, Russel Martin! I hated him when he was on the Yankees, but know he's with the Pirates and batting just about .300. Great Defensive catcher, but he'll probably stay with the pirates. Enough said.

4. Last but not least, Max Scherzer! He'll be asking for some big bucks, but teams will pay, because this guy was the AL CY young award winner! In 2013 he scored a 2.90 ERA with 21 wins! Yes! Somebody go and get this guy, and i don't want him in the American League!

Worst Free Agents

1. The only one, Stephen Drew. Showing no signs of improvement, sent him back to Arizona. just take a look at his numbers, and Yankees fans, you know what i'm talking about.

2014 playoff predictions

One Day Away!!!

Ive waited a VERY long time for the playoffs to start and now were ONE day away!!! I have an idea of who is going to be in the World series so here are my predictions:

AL wildcard- Royals win A's lose

NL wildcard- Giants win Pirates lose

ALDS- Angles win Royals lose

ALDS- Tigers win Orioles lose

NLDS- Nationals win Giants lose

NLDS- Dodgers win Cardinals lose

ALCS- Angles win Tigers lose

NLCS- Dodgers win Nationals lose

World series- Angles win Dodgers lose

After the Dodger clinch the NL west

After the Angles clinch the AL west

I'm not really sure what the best world series would be, but the Angles and Dodgers would be AWESOME!!! Tigers and Cardinals would be awful... I hope that doesn't happen!

Maybe Raul Ibanez can do what he did in 2012 with the Yankees...

Possible game 163 for Mariners

With the help of the bullpen, and Austin Jackson, The Mariners stay alive in the wildcard race. With a win today, and a loss by the Athletics, it would force game 163. Mariners play at 4:00 against the best team, and Athletics play at 3:00 against the worst team...

Get Ready For a pitching duel! King Felix against Cory Rasmus!

Cano, trying to lead the Mariners to the Postseason

I would LOVE to see the Mariners play in October. With all their young guys, they have a chance next year. Now, they need to win tonight, then win tomorrow, but the Athletics MUST lose tomorrow for the Mariners to force a tie breaker game. This game (I'm watching it right now) is 1-1 against the Angles. The Mariners tied it in the seventh... Now they need to win it! I hate games like these, its just like game 7 of the world series.
Mike Zunino, a young catcher, and has been a BIG part of the Mariners success.

There could be a game 163 Monday, if the Athletics lose tomorrow. The Mariners deserve the wins today and tomorrow! Make sure you watch the game tonight, and tomorrow, I Know I will!

I Miss this guy playing in the Bronx...

Clayton Kershaw

The Best Pitcher In Baseball

Clayton Kershaw is THE BEST pitcher in baseball. This guy can do anything, and already has one no-hitter. It was a perfect game, trust me, because if Hanley Ramirez didn't make that error, that would have been one of THE BEST games EVER pitched. My guess, is he will be better than Nolan Ryan, who has seven no hitters in his career. I don't think, he'll have seven no-hitters, but i bet he will have a perfect game and a couple of no-hitters... Throw in a dozen complete games too. Nolan Ryan has never thrown a perfect game OR has never won a CY Young award, and Kershaw is on his way to his third CY Young award.
Just wait another ten years and Clayton Kershaw will have ten total CY Young awards... i guarantee it will happen, just because there won't be another pitcher like Kershaw for a while. Maybe the Yankees will get him at the end of his career. With all the money... why not spend it on the best pitcher in baseball? At least the Dodgers have him and not the Red Sox and Orioles, that would be awful!  I just figured out how to post pictures, so I'm catching up!!!

Its Felix Doubront!!! Just kidding... Ive heard this Guy is a pretty good  player. Have no idea what his name is it's something like Kershaw. Im not sure not very familiar with this pitcher.

Derek Jeters final home game and 2012 ALDS

One of the games I was at in 2012... It was AWESOME!!!!

One of my favorite players even though he doesn't know how to run the bases...  this could have been an inside-the-park home run, but he thought it was a home run so he stood at the plate for a while... GO DODGERS!!!!!
Jeter Is first greeted by CC Sabathia who was a teammate of Jeters since 2009
Derek Jeter gets walk off single in last home game!!!

A Look At The 2015 Yankees

2015 YANKEES

Being a die hard Yankees fan for my whole life and watching every single game, it's going to be tough for the Yankees next year. The big time players need to step up and take charge otherwise the Yankees have NO chance. They don't have any young players, and all they do is continue to spend money on mid thirty year old players. They had a chance with Peter O'Brian, but they traded him away for Martin Prado. They had a chance with Rafael De'Paula who was pretty good in AA, but traded him and Yangervis Solarte who was my favorite player and I was devastated. Gosuke Katoh didn't work out for the yankees after batting over .300 in AAA in 2013, he started out the season in 2014 batting .190.
Derek Jeter is leaving, but it's for the best. His statistics (batting average too) are going down every season. Jose Pirela has a chance to become the Yankees shortstop, but so does Hanley Ramirez, Troy Tulowizki, and J.J Hardy. I would LOVE to see Hanley Ramirez in pinstripes, being a partial Dodgers fan, Hanley Ramirez is one of my favorite players. The Dodgers are one the most fun teams to watch in baseball. Back to the Yankees. I think the Yankees need to bring up the young guys and put Sabathia and Teixeria out of the question.
The Dodgers have a bunch of young prospects and have a VERY bright future... All the Yankees have is money, and that won't get you very far.

Collecting Autographs of your favorite sports players

Through The Mail Autographs

For about a month now, I've been sending some of my favorite players baseball cards, index cards, 8x10 photos, and baseballs for them to sign. So far I've sent to, Paul O'Neil, Todd Fazier, Johnathon Lucroy, Wade Boggs, Jed Lowrie, and Clayton Kershaw. I know, i may never may get Kershaw, but for $1, its not bad.

I Haven't gotten any back, because it usually takes as long as two years, but that's not likely. It takes about a month maybe less maybe a little more. I recommend sending a SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope) with the envelope, because it will increase your chances of getting the card back Signed. Here are some tips on how to collect TTM (through the mail) autographs.

1. write a short letter to the player, but don't make it to long. chances are they are very busy.
2. Always say please and thank you. you don't want the player to take it the wrong way when you send them a letter.
3. Don't be greedy and ask them to sign 7 cards. Limit it to two, but of course one is your best bet. I usually send one or two cards and an index card. I also ask them to inscribe it to me.
4. Sometimes they ask for a small donation, whether its $5 or $10. Some players don't specify the amount, but don't be cheap and send $1, the minimum (I would say) is $5.
5. Send a self addressed stamped envelope (if you really want the card back autographed) with the envelope.
6. Use this website to find the players success rate of sending the card back: SCF through the mail
(website is in pink its not a link just look it up safari or something the website helps A TON!!!!) so make sure you use this website!
7. Send the card and envolope and put the envelope in the mail!
8. BE PATIENT AND DO NOT SEND SOMETHING THAT YOU DONT WANT TO LOSE (just in case most likely you won't lose it)
Some Baseball stars that i would recommend sending to are: Roger Clemens, Todd Frazier, Nolan Ryan, and Wade Boggs. Wade Boggs DOES charge a small $5 fee, but if you send him five cards to sign, he will sign them all.

Dyna2ty ends thursday night for the captain of the Yankees

Derek Jeter ends his career with a bang

Thursday Night at 7:05, Derek Jeter started his last home game. With Kuroda on the mound for the yanks, you knew he could give a good outing and thats just what he did. Hiroki Kuroda started the game by giving up two solo home runs to the O's who are waiting for October, and at the end of the first inning it was TWO nothing Orioles. But the Yankees answered right back with TWO runs in the bottom the first, with a single by Brett Gardner, a double by Derek Jeter, and then a fielding error by former Yankee Kelly Johnson allowed Jeter to score. Nothing happened until the bottom of the seventh inning when Derek Jeter came up with the bases loaded and reached on a force attempt by J.J Hardy. To top, it off Brian McCann got a RBI on a sacrifice fly.

Everybody wanted Jeter to come up one last time in the eighth inning, but it didn't happen. The closer David Robertson allowed a walk to Nick Markakis then Alejandro De Aza struck out looking. Adam Jones, who was struggling hit a long two run shot to bring the Orioles within one run. The dangerous Nelson Cruz struck out swinging, and with two outs, Steve Pearce hit a solo home run to tie it at five in the Ninth. Robertson got the last out and set up the spotlight for Derek Jeter. Even I wanted David Robertson to give up those runs, just so Jeter could get one last at bat.

Jose Pirela, the rookie, singled to lead off the ninth, and i knew just what would happen. After being pinch run for by Antoan Richardson, Brett Gardner came up to the plate and bunted moving Richardson to second.

"Now batting for the yankees, number two, Derek Jeter. number two," the last time the fans, the Yankees, ANYONE, would here the voice of Bob Sheppard who died on July 11 2010 at the age of 99. Derek Jeter singled to right, and Antoan Richardson scored!!! Derek Jeter, with a walk off single in his LAST home game ever in the Bronx! There couldn't have been a better ending for the Captain, Number two, Derek Jeter. And that's how he wanted his career to end: playing shortstop for the yankees.

Being a die hard Yankees fan for most of my life and trying to watch all 162 games a year, this was one of the BEST games I've seen in my lifetime. To end your career like Jeter did, nothing can compare to what happened Thursday night.

Top Headlines In The MLB

 Marlins playoff hopes fade

After losing six out there last ten, the marlins playoff hopes start to fade. they are 6.5 games back of the second wild card spot and after losing all star Giancarlo Stanton to a head injury, there season may end in September. Giancarlo Stanton was hit in the head in a game against the Milwaukee Brewers, when Mike Fiers was pitching. He was immediately on the ground, his mouth bleeding, and by the look on Mike Fiers face, you could tell he was very sorry. They carried him off the Field on a stretcher, but Reed Johnson had to bat for Stanton because he swung at the pitch. The very next pitch, Mike Fiers hit Johnson in the hand and it was called a foul ball again. The benches cleared and Mike Fiers left the Field after throwing the ball down, giving the Marlins a look telling them he didn't mean to start anything.

Yankees stay within 4.5 games from the second wildcard

With a 3-2 win today against the Orioles, the Yankees manage to stay 4.5 games back for the second wild card spot. Shane Greene went 5.1 innings giving up two earned runs. One was an RBI single from Nelson Cruz, who has 102 RBI on the season, and the other was a home run from Steve Pearce, his 17th. Brian Mccann had a solo home run, the 19th of the season and only the third on the road. Antoan Richardson got his first RBI of his career then stole second which allowed Chris Young to take home giving the Yankees a 3-0 lead. If the Yankees want to make the postseason, they need to start scoring run because they have a very tough schedule ahead of them. After a four game set against the Orioles, they head to Tampa Bay to play a three game set, then head back to the Bronx for Blue Jays and then another four games against the first place Orioles. Derek Jeter's last home game will be Thursday the 25th. He is currently batting .251 with 40 RBI which is not what he expected.

Dodgers lose to Giants hold on to 1 game lead

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been good all season long, but The San Fransisco Giants have been creeping up on them in the NL west, winning their last four games. Hyun-Jin Ryu has always been a reliable starter for the Dodgers, but last night he gave up five runs on four hits in the first inning. Chris Perez replaced Ryu in the second inning of what became a 9-0 game. The 27 year old southpaw, Hyun-Jin Ryu, will be examined today saying he had some stiffness and pain in his left shoulder. If the dodgers lose Ryu, it will put them in a tough place to find another starter. The LA Dodgers play another two games against the Giants, which could decide who will be contending for the wild card and who will take first place.

MVP and CY Young predictions

Its always very tough to decide who will get the MVP and CY Young, but these are who i think will get the award.
AL MVP---Mike Trout for the LA Angles. He is the best player in the AL and probably in baseball. Trout has speed, power, and the ability to hit for average. Being rookie of the year for the AL in 2012, Trout has shown what he can do in the major leagues and will only get better in the future.
NL MVP--- Clayton Kershaw for the LA Dodgers. He is the best pitcher in baseball with the lowest ERA, and also got his first no-hitter this year which some people say was the most dominating no-hitter in baseball. If it weren't for Hanley Ramirez, who made an error, it would have been a perfect game. Yes, pitchers dont usually win CY Young awards, but if its Clayton Kershaw, you know he has a good chance.
AL CY Young---  Felix Hernandez for the Seattle Mariners. He has the lowest ERA in the AL and has always been great whether he was pitching against the Astros or Angels. He's not as good as good as Kershaw, but will help the Mariners go for the second wild card.
NL CY Young--- Clayton Kershaw for the LA Dodgers. If he doesn't win the NL CY Young award, then he must have had some REALLY bad starts near the end, because it's obvious that he will get the CY Young.

World Series Predictions

To me, it seems that the Angels have to make the world series because they are so good and have such good players. In the NL it's a little harder to decide. I compare the Nationals to the Angels and if these two teams are in the world series, it will be a must watch. The Dodgers will fall short of the world series and i think a big part of that will be because they lost (or may lose) Hyun-Jin Ryu. The Angels are the best and most consistent team, so i think they will be the team to win the world series.
