How The Yankees Are Doing Player By Player - Carlos Beltran

The time has finally come to talk about one of my least favorite Yankees - Carlos Beltran. He's 38 years old, and he can't hit. And to add on top of that, he doesn't even run in the outfield! I remember one game last year, Wil Myers hit a double into the corner, and Carlos Beltran jogs over there acting like it's nothing. Eventually Myers scored and it was an inside the park home run. Chris Young has been fantastic for the Yankees so far in 2015, so why doesn't Joe Girardi let Young play instead of Beltran? The world may never know...

I remember pulling this card from a box of 2013 Topps Tribute WBC. At the time, Beltran wasn't with the Yankees. It's always nice when you get a card of a player you don't really know, and then eventually that guy is on your team. The card is #ed 118/118, and the patch is pretty weak, but what am I going to do about it. Topps is just being Topps!

This was one of the cards that I bought at the National last year in Cleveland. I think I payed somewhere around $15 for this Beltran autograph which isn't bad at all. Maybe if Carlos starts to hit I'll enjoy having him on the Yankees a little more. As for now... He's batting .197 with no home runs. Yippee!

  1. I would really like to see Beltran pick it up, but I don't have the highest expectations at this point in his career. Wish we took him a few years earlier.
