IN PROGRESS 1/17/16
Some of my favorite Yankees cards with a backstory to each one!
Orlando Hernandez 2014 Topps Tier One Acclaimed Autographs /10. El Duque was a major part to the Yankees, and this is a nice low numbered card to have of the starting pitcher.
Luis Severino 2015 Bowman Inception Autograph. A Gift From Drew!
Brett Gardner 2012 Panini Prime Cuts Patch /10. Gardner is my favorite (current) Yankees player, and I was stoked to pull this card a couple years ago.
Austin Romine 2012 Topps Chrome Refractor Autograph /499. Romine hasn't done much for the Yankees, but I used to love Romine and would really like to see him back in the majors sometime soon.
A.J. Burnett SP Authentic Autograph. This guy had a 4.04 ERA in the first 16 years of his career, lead the league in losses in 2014, but in his last year in the majors he goes out and makes his first all star appearance; not to mention he had a 3.18 ERA. Why couldn't he have done that with the Yankees?
Tino Martinez 2013 Panini Stars And Stripes Autograph /223. Acquired a couple years ago on a forum.
Jim Abbot 2013 Topps Tier Autograph /299. I'm not really sure where this one came from...
David Phelps 2014 Topps Gypsy Queen Autograph /49. Even though Phelps was traded to the Marlins last year, I loved watching him pitch, and the energy he brought to the team was amazing.
Raul Ibanez
Brian McCann 2014 Topps Museum Collection Quad Relic /99. I pulled this myself right after the Yankees signed McCann!
John Flaherty
Jim Abbot 2015 Topps Archives Signature Series Autograph /53. I pulled this myself on Christmas (2015)!
Virgil Trucks 2003 Upper Deck Yankee Signature Series Autograph. I got this one as a gift from the one and only William!
CC Sabathia 2013 Topps Five Star Jumbo Jersey /35. I bought this at the first real card show I went to.
CC Sabathia Royal Rookies Autograph /1995. I don't like to talk about this trade...
Dellin Betances 2012 Bowman Chrome Autograph. I made another terrible trade for this card...
Mark Teixeira 2003 SPX Young Stars Autograph /1295. This is a card that has stayed in my collection for quite some time! I made a trade for it about 3 years ago, and still have it in my collection.
Bill Dickey 2014 Panini Classics Relic /25. I pulled this myself, and Dickey is a Hall Of Famer so what's not to like?
Yogi Berra 2001 Topps Archives Reserve Relic. William bought this for me at the National, and it's one of my favorite cards in my Yankees collection! The card looks amazing, and who doesn't love a relic of a Hall Of Famer?
Luis Severino 2015 Bowman Inception Autograph (Case Hit) BGS 9.5/10. Future Yankees ace!
Starlin Castro 2010 Bowman Chrome Refractor Autograph /500 BGS 9.5/10. New Yankees second baseman! I got this card just after he was traded to the Yankees.
Alex Rodriguez 1996 Leaf Autograph BGS 9/9. I also bought this at the National, and also graded it. After the season A-Rod had, there was no way I could leave without acquiring an autograph of one of the most hated players in the MLB. I'll probably be sending it back to BGS for a bump, because I don't think it deserved a 9 autograph and it is only 0.5 away from a 9.5.
Joe DiMaggio 2015 Topps Tier One Relic /99 BGS 9/10. I bought this card at the National, and graded
Paul O'Neil 2013 Topps Five Star Autograph /333 BGS 9/10. There are very few players that I like more than O'Neil, and I've slowly been acquiring more autographs of his from various products.
Don Mattingly 2014 Topps Five Star Autograph /50 BGS 9.5/10. I bought this card at the National last year, and graded it myself. With the help of Dodger Penguin of course. The card looks very nice in person.
Mariano Rivera 2015 Topps Museum Collection Autograph 17/25 BGS 9/10. This may be my favorite card in my collection, only because I pulled it myself, graded it myself, and kept it for such a long time. Not to mention it's an autograph of the greatest closer and postseason pitcher of all time.
