A Trade With William

About a week ago, I completed a trade with William of Foul Bunt. I busted a box of 2014 Bowman draft over Easter, and he liked some of the black wave, and inserts, so I sent those over to him. I got these back in return:

First up, is this Nolan Ryan epic materials from UD Epic! I never realized how good these cards looked.

On top of how good they look, UD also adds a nice big swatch. This one is of Mike Schmidt! The cards are absolutely stunning, and if I had known this, I would have only asked for one in return.

A trade with William is never complete without an extra card. This time, he didn't include a ball, he included a Virgil Trucks autograph! I'm pretty sure he was only with the Yankees one year, but nonetheless, it's an awesome card! Thank you so much for the trade William!

1st BGS Submission - May 1st

I've never done a BGS submission, and after I made some money off of the Maddux, I thought I would put the $150 towards my first BGS submission! The cards look much better in the BGS cases, and it also protects the cards. I'm going to do this Dodger Penguin style (TM).

I acquired this card at a card show in November, but it has a bunch of scratches on the front, so I do not expect a 9.5, 9, or even 8.5. Before all of that though, BGS may not even grade Strata autographs. Dodger Penguin's strata's didn't get graded, but I'll send it either way.

At first, I wasn't going to send this card, but I love the look of this card, and It will look great incased. The surface isn't the best, and the card doesn't really have corners, so I'm expecting a 9. Definitely not a 9.5, but a 9/10 would be great!

This was the one Reggie Jackson autograph that I was going to grade, since It's in much better condition then the Topps Tier one autograph. I'm expecting a 9.5/10, mostly because the corners and edges look good, and the autograph is clean for the most part. It has a tiny tiny tiny smudge at the beginning of the "J," but I don't think that will affect the autograph grade.

I usually wouldn't grade a relic card, but it's a button, how could I not grade it? The corners actually look great, considering it's so thick, and it came from a product from 2008. I would be happy with a 9, but a gold label is always great! Maybe, just maybe, I could get a 9.5 on this card. Hopefully!

I pulled this card from a box of 2015 Museum Collection, and it looks flawless. Okay, maybe not flawless, but good enough to earn a 9.5. Let's hope for a 9.5 on this card!

Probably my favorite card in my collection, this was the reason why I was going to do the submission. Then 1 turned into 2. Then 3. Then 16. The autograph is flawless, and I'm thinking this card is going to get a 9/10. The corners aren't the best, but that may just be me. Hopefully this card can pull off a 9.5/10

I'm not really sure what this card is going to get, but I'm hoping it get's a 9.5/10. I'm always hoping, that a card gets a gold label, but this card is right in the middle.

This card hasn't been taken out of the top loader yet that Topps sent it in, so I think this card will get a 9.5. The surface, corners, and edges all look very sharp. I honestly have no idea about the centering on any card, since I don't think that should be a sub grade. Their is a small smudge on the autograph, so it will definitely not get a 10 on the autograph. Overall, I think this card will get a 9.5/9.

Five star has always had corner issues, but this card looks pretty good. Not worthy of a 9.5, but I think this card will get a 9/10. I'm really hoping this card gets a gold label though!

Now onto the prospects. This card looks extremely good, and I'm pretty sure this card could earn a 9.5/10. Another up and coming star!

This is another sharp looking card that I'm hoping can earn a 9.5/10. I hate Yordano Ventura, but he's an absolutely amazing pitcher, and this card is #ed /99!

Everything looks great on this card, so I'm hoping for a 9.5/10.

This is the only finest card that I'm not really sure about, since I can't really see any scratches on the card. I would LOVE for this card to get a 9.5/10, but I think it deserves a 9/10 at least. Hopefully I can pull off a 9.5/10!

This card has never been shown on my blog before, since I'm so behind on trades, but I think Nick Gordon is going to be an amazing player. I would love a 9.5/10, and I think it deserves a 9.5/10!

I just got this card today, and It's great since I'm already sending cards to BGS, I might as well throw this one in too! The autograph is flawless, and the edges and corners look pretty good to me. I have no idea about the centering, and I haven't checked out the surface, and won't be checking the surface since I don't want to take the card out of the top loader. 9.5/10 Would be great on this card!

The only non autograph or relic in this lot, is this Derek Jeter TEKtonics parallel /50! I pulled this myself from a box of Topps high tek, along with a Jose Abreu base autograph. Edges and corners are fine, but the surface on tek cards isn't the best, so I'm hoping it doesn't affect the overall grade that much. I think this card is worthy of a 9.5, if not, definitely a 9!

I'll be sending these cards to BGS on Friday, so It's definitely going to be a long 20 days! I am no Dodger Penguin, but I am hoping for some good grades. You'll see all of these cards again in 20 days!

(All rights go to master Dodger Penguin)

I'm Back With A Trade

I'm so behind on trades, I don't know how I'm going to fit all of it in, but I'll find a way! I recently completed a trade with a member on the sports card forum. I traded away my Greg Maddux triple patch autograph /5 from 2015 Topps Museum Collection, to get these cards, along with $150:

He included many extra autographs and inserts, one of them being this Tim Lopes autograph! I have no idea who he is, but it's always nice to get an extra autograph.

Ken Griffey Jr diecut.

This really cool Yordano Ventura blue wave.

A Roger Clemens rookie card, which is really cool!

Another really cool Griffey insert.

And the last card was this Michel Taylor x-fractor! Taylor replaced Denard Span while he was out with an injury, and I think Taylor is going to be an amazing center fielder!

And the main card of the trade, this Byron Buxton 2013 Bowman chrome autograph! I'm not really sure what I should do with this card yet, but you will see it in my next post. Either way, I really like what I got from the trade!

200th Post - Contest!

It's been awesome blogging, meeting people, and talking to amazing people! It's crazy that I've been blogging for 8 months now. It's been great getting trades done and everything like that, so I just wanted to show my appreciation to you all, by having a little contest! The rules are simple:

You must be a follower of my blog

You must comment on this post

And the hardest part, you must have your playoff predictions, with every playoff team. Example:

AL WILDCARD:

Mariners Vs A's - A's win

NL WILDCARD:

Cardinals Vs Cubs - Cubs win

AL EAST:

Yankees vs Tigers - Yankees win in 4 games

NL EAST:

And then on and on and on. Whoever is closest, will win these cards, and it must be posted on your blog.

I was having a little trouble blocking out the price... It's not on the card though.

Thank you for participating! And you must advertise it on your blog with your predictions. Thank you for everyone who has read my blog!

EDIT: Contest won't be over until November and as time goes on, many more cards will be added.

First Place Yankees

It's been such a long time since I've blogged, but I'll get back to it today. I have been so caught up with school work, and playing and watching baseball, that I haven't had any time to write.

The Yankees started off really bad, and I thought that it was going to be an even longer season then last year. The past week they've been doing great, and that sure has gotten my hopes up high! Not to mention that their pitching has been good, and they lead MLB with 28 home runs! Their bullpen has been lights out also... At this point, what's not to like about the Yankees? Chase Whitely just got called up from AAA to give the starters an extra day off, and I look forward to seeing him pitch tonight!

GO YANKEES!!!

I Need Help Please!

Someone on the sports card forum posted this card up for trade:

The problem is, I would have to give up this card:

I'm not really sure what I should do at this point... One HOF autograph for 3 superstar autographs. It's not as easy as you may think!

Should I make the trade???

This Week In Cards...

I'm in the car right now, but I have a personal hotspot on my iphone, so I'm able to blog in the car! Anyways, I just thought I'd recap everything that I've gotten over the past week.

Before the awesome week even started, I got a package from The Dutch Card Guy that contained this awesome Chipper Jones button!

Last Friday, I opened a box of 2015 Topps Museum Collection, which was the day of release. I also went to the Yankees game later that night which lasted 19 innings, the longest game I've ever been to, right next to the Giants and Nationals NLDS game last year that lasted 18 innings, which was the longest postseason game ever.

The quad relic in my box, was of Felix Hernandez! No patches or anything fancy on this card, just a plain Felix Hernandez quad relic /99!

Since I'm a Yankees fan, I had to pull my fair share of Red Sox, so I pulled this Xander Bogaerts momentous material relic. Just more Red Sox to add to my collection...

I also pulled this Kolten Wong Archival autographs card /399! I've always wanted a Kolten Wong autograph, and I finally got one, even though he's not the best player to get.

This card was in the first mini box of the master box that I opened. A Greg Maddux triple patch autograph /5!!! Someone on the sports card forum helped me out, and said that the patch in the top left corner is from the 2000 All Star Game patch that the Braves wore all year since they were hosting the All Star Game.

In between all that madness, I got a package from Topps which contained this awesome Julio Urias oversized purple ice autograph /25! I got this card in a trade on the sports card forum, from when I traded away my Jose Abreu prime materials autograph from 2014 Immaculate.

Another card that was part of the trade, was this awesome Giancarlo Stanton sepia autograph /35 from 2014 Topps Tribute! If you can see it, theres a smudge at the beginning of the signature...

On the same day after getting the package from Topps, I also got in my 2 boxes of 2015 Topps Museum Collection!

David Ortiz canvas collection...

I'm going to show the hits from my boxes in order from worst to best. This is the worst.

It pains me to say how much Scherzer gets paid, so I won't say it...

I really like Cespedes as a player, but I hate to pull his cards since he's on the Red Sox now. This card is numbered /50!

Matt Adams is an amazing player, and is extremely underrated which make his cards worth nothing, but I love this card!

This David Wright momentous material camo relic, is awesome, and on top of the card being awesome, it's numbered 5/50, which is his jersey number!

It was a really tough decision, but I put this card behind the Henderson Alvarez. Let's just say I like these 2 cards equally the same! This is my first relic card of all these players, so it's a first for everything!

I already have a Henderson Alvarez autograph, but It doesn't beat this! This cad is numbered 5/5, and the patch is from the all star game workout jersey! Not game used, but still... It doesn't beat this card though!

The last card that I pulled out of my 2 boxes of Museum Collection, was this really cool Mariano Rivera autograph /25! I also noticed that If you have 17 and 25, you get 42. Not his jersey number, but it's still a neat little feature to the card. As a Yankee fan, It's great to have an autographed card of the all time saves leader!
